The Post Graduate Department of Chemistry organized an educational trip to the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Dhargal – Goa, on 6th September 2025 for M.Sc. Chemistry Part II students.
The visit aimed to provide students with interdisciplinary exposure to the integration of modern science with traditional Ayurvedic practices.
🧪 Highlights of the Visit
🏥 Hospital and College Tour:
Students toured the AIIA campus, including visits to the hospital and college facilities, where they witnessed live demonstrations of Ayurvedic treatments and explored the state-of-the-art X-ray facility, Anatomy Laboratory, and Herbal Raw Drug Store.🧑🏫 Faculty Interaction Session:
A productive interaction session between the AIIA and Department of Chemistry faculty sparked discussions on potential academic collaboration, focusing on areas such as:Computational Chemistry
Medicinal Chemistry
Integrating Traditional Knowledge with Modern Scientific Approaches
This interaction has initiated the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions to promote collaborative teaching and research.
👩🎓 Participation
A total of 34 M.Sc. Part II Chemistry students and 7 faculty members participated in the visit.
The experience offered an excellent opportunity to understand the synergy between traditional medicine and modern chemical science, broadening the participants’ academic perspectives.

The educational trip to AIIA, Dhargal was a unique learning experience, blending ancient Ayurvedic wisdom with modern scientific methodologies.
It successfully enhanced students’ appreciation of interdisciplinary research and opened new avenues for future collaborations in Chemistry and Medical Science.
