Dnyanprassarak Mandal, Mapusa, is a charitable institution founded in 1908. On the 18th of June, 2008 it completed 100 years of devotion to the cause of knowledge and education. The Vaishya Mandal, a parent body of the Mandal, has been providing the necessary financial support to realize its endeavour of providing access to quality education to the youth in the state.

The Dnyanprassark Mandal manages several educational institutes that imparts pre-primary, primary, secondary, higher secondary, vocational, college and post-graduation education.
The D.M’s V.N.S. Bandekar college of commerce was established in 1974. The college which was formerly affiliated to the university of Bombay, is presently affiliated to Goa University. The college started its degree courses in Arts and science from june 1996 which have been granted permanent affiliation by the Goa University from June 2005. From the academic year 2006-07, the college started the self-financed Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA), Master of Commerce (M.Com) courses and the course of M.Sc in pharmaceutical Chemistry which has been sanctioned by UGC under Innovative Programme Teaching and Research in Interdisciplinary and Emerging areas since the academic year 2009-10. The college has been recognized by UGC and has been reaccredited by N.A.A.C under the new scheme.
