The Department of Chemistry organized a Career Guidance Talk for undergraduate Chemistry students on 7th October 2025.
The session was conducted by our distinguished alumnus Dr. Ketan Mandrekar, who is currently serving as a BrainPool Postdoctoral Scientist at Chonnam National University, South Korea.
🧭 About the Session
Dr. Ketan delivered an insightful talk on
“Future Career Prospects in Chemistry: Exploring Indian and Korean Opportunities.”
In his address, he highlighted various career paths available in the field of science, with a special emphasis on opportunities within Chemistry. He provided an overview of the diverse industries and sectors where chemists can build meaningful and rewarding careers.
He encouraged students to pursue higher studies, emphasizing the importance of completing an M.Sc. in Chemistry, followed by Ph.D. and Postdoctoral research for those aspiring to excel in research and academia.
Dr. Ketan also discussed several fellowship opportunities available to students and researchers, making a special mention of the prestigious BrainPool Fellowship in South Korea.

A total of 40 undergraduate students enthusiastically attended the session and benefitted from Dr. Ketan’s valuable insights and guidance.
